Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Considerable knowledge of methods and materials used in moderately large-scale cooking, baking, or cashiering operations. Must have the ability to carry out oral and written instructions. Food Service Worker II must have knowledge of cooking/baking time, oven temperatures, and methods of mixing, food values, and nutrition, as well as the use of the equipment necessary to accomplish these tasks. Food Service Worker II must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, possess skills in counting and making change as well as skill in operation of calculator and cash register. Must agree to wear appropriate safeguards for food area (e.g., hair net, gloves, etc.). Knowledgeable of the importance of sanitation and safety in a quantity food service establishment. Must have documented prior experience in cooking, baking and/or cashiering and receive approval from FNS District Office to assign personnel to the classification.
Physical Requirements:
Food Service Worker II – Heavy Work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
